Brooke’s Superhero Art Challenge! Take part in this Bolton youth creativity competition.

Updated: Apr 23

What is the project?

This project is a competition to enhance people’s artistic creativity during quarantine.

How do people take part?

Either design a superhero or create a comic strip! It can be linked to the pandemic or just anything you care about.

Then post it as a picture on your instagram, twitter or facebook and tag @CreativeCityGM or email it to - do this by Tuesday 30th June 2020!

What kind of style should people draw their designs in?

Absolutely any! It would be easier to be a cartoonish drawing, not a remake of the Mona Lisa. It doesn’t have to be realistic. Colour it however, shade it however, be unique with your style!

What if people are new to drawing or don’t know how to draw?

Don't worry, beginners are welcome! If your first drawing isn’t perfect you can always try again until you are happy! I’ll add some youtube links to help you get started.

how to draw bodies:

(note: while watching please remember its a beautiful rainbow world and gender isn't always linked to a particular body shape)

How should I find inspiration?

Think about the Superheros in your life and what qualities they have! Role models, family members, your favourite cartoons. The world is your oyster during this project so be creative.

Here’s an example drawing I did to inspire you.

Do you have to live in a certain place to take part?

To take part you can live anywhere but to be eligible to win a prize in the competition you have to live in Tonge or The Haulgh in Bolton.

How does it feel to be part of a project making a difference in your community?

I’m really really excited. This is an amazing opportunity and I can not wait to see the results. It could help so much with the career or anyone who takes part, it can help them in more than just their career actually.
